TBC Bank Group PLC established Space International with the strategic aim of facilitating the group's global expansion efforts. In 2018, the team successfully introduced the pioneering neobank, Space, in Georgia. Building upon this success, subsequent efforts were directed towards the creation and launch of the fully digital bank in Uzbekistan, TBC UZ, in 2020. In a significant move towards enhancing its foothold in the Uzbek market, the group acquired Payme, a prominent local payments provider and esteemed brand among the Uzbek populace, in 2023.

Presently, a dedicated team of 1,700 professionals representing 17 nationalities collaborates to advance TBC's international presence. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Lead with a strong background in on-premise systems to drive our infrastructure transformation. This role requires deep expertise in managing and automating on-premises environments, including on-prem Kubernetes clusters, Kafka, and CI/CD. As the DevOps Lead, you will work with our IT, development, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure systems for high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize on-premise infrastructure, including VMware environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance
  • Architect, deploy, and manage on-prem Kubernetes clusters, overseeing application deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead CI/CD initiatives to automate build, testing, and deployment processes, focusing on integrating these workflows into our on-premise systems.
  • Implement and maintain Kafka clusters on-premise, ensuring robust data streaming and messaging capabilities.
  • Oversee and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform to enhance repeatability and reliability.
  • Develop disaster recovery and backup solutions to protect on-premise systems, ensuring minimal downtime and data protection.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with on-premise systems, establishing DevOps best practices across the organization.
  • Establish and enforce security policies for on-premise systems, including patch management, access controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices for managing and optimizing on-premises infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering with a strong focus on on-premise infrastructure.
  • Expertise in VMware administration, including vSphere and vCenter, and experience in virtual machine and network management.
  • Proven experience with on-premise Kubernetes clusters (K3s, RKE, or custom clusters) for container orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of Kafka setup, maintenance, and scaling on on-premise systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines tailored for on-premise environments, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bamboo.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration, shell scripting, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience implementing security and monitoring tools for on-premises systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack).
