In 2018, the team successfully introduced the pioneering neobank, Space, in Georgia. Building upon this success, subsequent efforts were directed towards the creation and launch of the fully digital bank in Uzbekistan, TBC UZ, in 2020. In a significant move towards enhancing its foothold in the Uzbek market, the group acquired Payme, a prominent local payments provider and esteemed brand among the Uzbek populace, in 2023.

The Android Architect is responsible for defining, guiding, and evolving the technical architecture of large-scale Android applications. This role ensures that the Android engineering organization delivers high-performing, secure, scalable, and maintainable software by establishing architectural patterns, technical standards, and long-term platform strategy.
Primary Focus:
Architecture & System Design
- Define and evolve the overall Android application architecture, including modularization strategy, layering, and domain boundaries.
- Establish long-term architectural standards (Clean Architecture, MVI/MVVM, multi-module Compose-first design).
- Design scalable solutions for networking, storage, concurrency, offline caching, and state management.
- Evaluate and approve architectural proposals from Senior Engineers and Lead Developers.
- Ensure consistency and correctness of architectural decisions across squads through ADRs and RFC reviews.
Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership
- Lead complex technical initiatives such as multi-year migrations, platform redesigns, and modernization efforts (Compose migration, multi-module refactor, remote modularization).
- Own the Android platform roadmap: performance, stability, technical debt reduction, and developer experience improvements.
- Build reusable frameworks, libraries, and internal components for organization-wide adoption.
- Provide architectural guidance during feature planning, estimations, and system decomposition.
Code Quality & Engineering Excellence
- Define enforceable coding standards, review guidelines, and architectural best practices.
- Promote scalable patterns for DI, navigation, state handling, synchronization, and background processing.
- Drive performance engineering efforts: startup optimization, memory profiling, and ANR reduction.
- Ensure robustness through error-handling frameworks, resiliency patterns, and fallback strategies.
Collaboration & Cross-Org Leadership
- Collaborate with Backend Architects to design efficient API contracts, integration patterns, and versioning strategies.
- Work with iOS Architects to ensure cross-platform architectural consistency.
- Mentor and develop Senior Engineers and Leads; support domain-level technical growth.
- Communicate architectural vision and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and confidently.
Governance & Documentation
- Maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), technical guidelines, and architecture blueprints.
- Ensure all teams adhere to architecture principles, module boundaries, and code ownership conventions.
- Review critical technical documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organization standards.
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of Android development experience, with 3+ years in an architectural or platform-level role.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, and multi-module Clean Architecture.
- Advanced understanding of DI frameworks (Hilt/Dagger/Koin), navigation stacks, rendering behavior, and concurrency models.
- Proven experience designing complex mobile systems with high performance and scalability.
- Strong knowledge of networking, caching, offline mode design, and API integration strategies.
- Experience driving large technical initiatives involving multiple squads. Strong communication skills and ability to influence engineering direction across teams.
