Building upon this success, subsequent efforts were directed towards the creation and launch of the fully digital bank in Uzbekistan, TBC UZ, in 2020. Job Overview
We are seeking a Data Modeler to design, develop, and optimize data models that support our analytics, reporting, and operational data needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in relational and dimensional data modeling, along with expertise in Data Vault architecture, normalization, and denormalization techniques. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure our data models align with business requirements and enable efficient data processing.
Primary Focus:
- Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems.
- Develop and optimize relational (OLTP) and dimensional (OLAP) models, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and scalability.
- Create and maintain ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other metadata documentation to support data governance and transparency.
- Apply normalization techniques to optimize transactional data models and denormalization techniques for reporting and analytical workloads.
- Design and implement Dimensional Models (Star, Snowflake Schemas) for data warehousing and analytical reporting.
- Work with Data Vault modeling for historical tracking, scalability, and flexibility in data warehouse design.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure proper ETL/ELT pipelines align with data models and performance requirements.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security by defining data governance standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Analyze existing data structures, identify inefficiencies, and propose optimizations.
- Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient models.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in data modeling, database design, or related role.
- Expertise in normalization and denormalization techniques.
- Proficiency in Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling and data flow diagramming.
- Strong experience in dimensional modeling (Star & Snowflake Schemas).
- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational database management systems (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Experience in data modeling tools such as Erwin, SAP PowerDesigner, or DBT.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and how they interact with different data models.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) is a plus.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and modeling techniques is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in real-time analytics or streaming data environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Python, Scala, or other scripting languages for data modeling automation.
